WHERE IT BEGAN
Founded in 2006 by sisters Kristy Lawrence and Brooke Anderson, FLANNEL began with a small collection of silk slips, frill shorts and knitwear. It was born from a simple idea: that comfort shouldn’t be compromised for beauty and elevation.
Our community fell in love with the idea that pieces could feel as luxe as they appear, and look as natural barefoot by the ocean as they do at a candlelit table in the city with just a few changes in accessories.
Today, FLANNEL has evolved from its humbled roots in Western Australia to an international brand recognised for its romantic, refined, and ever-so-slightly undone aesthetic. It remains a family-owned and operated brand, grounded in it's same close-knit connection: to our makers, our FLANNEL team, our clients, and each other. Every collection, every detail, every decision is guided by the same hands. We stay close intentionally, so everything is made with purpose and handled with precision.
THE WOMAN BEHIND FLANNEL
Kristy Lawrence is the sole designer of FLANNEL’s women’s collections. Her approach is instinctive and deeply personal, shaped by a love of travel, vintage references and the relaxed elegance of her West Australian upbringing.
From the fabrics she selects to the final fit, Kristy's signature is woven into every step. The result is pieces that can be designed across years yet always look like they belong together.
Alongside the women's, Kristy designs FLANNEL menswear in collaboration with her husband & managing director John. Sharing a love for beautiful fabrics, vintage references and relaxed dressing, the two bring the same FLANNEL sensibility to the men's collection.
