HOW TO LOVE YOUR FLANNEL
GARMENT CARE GUIDE
At FLANNEL, our collections are brought to life through thoughtful design, considered materials, and the hands of skilled artisans. We often use delicate trims, fine fabrics, or hand-finished features that require considered care.
Caring for your garments will help preserve their timeless beauty for years to come.
The following is a general guide only. Always refer to your garments unique care label as it will provide the most accurate instructions. If you are ever unsure, our team is here to assist you: customercare@flannel.com.au.
A few simple, foundational practices to extend the life of every garment.
- Washing: A cool hand-wash with gentle detergent is preferred unless your care label states otherwise. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals. Wash dark colours separately.
- Drying: Air drying in the shade will help maintain both shape and fibre integrity. Avoid tumble drying unless your garment specifically allows it.
- Steaming vs. Ironing: Steaming is generally kinder to delicate fabrics. If ironing is required, use a low setting and always press inside out with a cloth.
- Storage: Store garments in cool, well-ventilated spaces. Avoid high heat or humidity. Natural fibres especially benefit from being allowed to breathe.
- Handling: Be mindful of rough surfaces, jewellery, or sharp edges which may pull or damage fine fabrics.
FLANNEL garments have been individually crafted with great care. This may lead to slight variation in finish and colour. Beads, embroidery, sequins and metals may change in colour with time and wear, adding to the charm of each piece.
Our silks are chosen for their ethereal drape and natural lustre — they’re timeless, tactile, and require only minimal washing.

- Dry: Always lay flat on a drying rack in shade. Never hang while wet as this will cause the knitwear to lose its shape.
- Press: Steam or press gently using a cloth.
