Introducing ‘FLANNEL Spotlight,’ a new Q&A series celebrating a community of creative identities across the globe. For Summer 2026 (across the Northern Hemisphere anyway), we’re shining a light on assorted cultural tastemakers and the ways in which they challenge the status quo through their work from behind-the-scenes. Fortunately for us, it’s an exercise in superb sartorial taste too as each individual is a bona fide fan of the brand, and so here we get to showcase the unique ways in which the wearer chooses to make FLANNEL their own; be it by changing the look of a design from day to night or adding layers to an outfit whilst crossing timelines. In essence, it’s an ode to one of the most vital components of our design process: embracing the art of wanderlust and going your own way. Enjoy!
You chose the Skyler Sequin Skirt from FLANNEL, why was this piece in particular your immediate favorite?
I love that this piece feels like a dual wardrobe staple for summer: elevated for evening and yet I could also instantly imagine it being dressed down with a simple tank for the daytime. It’s been perfect for this heatwave we’ve had in Italy over the past few days and I’ve worn it for post-beach summer evenings in the city and also throughout the afternoons by the seaside (the sequins glisten in the sunshine and it’s so pretty).
Any stories / details on where you’ve worn it and / or what you’re teaming with it?
As soon as I took it off in L.A I literally packed it in my suitcase right away (I’d been preparing for a vacation to Italy with my husband and son). I’m teaming this one mostly with a tank top and sandals and wearing it throughout Tuscany, Rome, Elba and Mallorca.
As FLANNEL is an Australian brand, can you give us an insight into your experience / curiosity about Australia?
I love working with Australian brands. I'm a huge supporter of sustainability and eco-ethics and Aussies seem to really understand the importance of that, especially FLANNEL! I've never actually been to Australia but I’ve always been really curious to visit and always instantly think of warm weather, gorgeous beaches and beautiful people.
FLANNEL designs are hugely inspired by traveling and embracing the art of wanderlust. Where are you headed on vacation this year and what are your three must-haves that you never leave home without?
Three things I'll never leave home without include SPF sunscreen, my phone (unfortunately) and lip liner. There’s always music around me when I travel so I love those cringe-worthy classics like Roxy Music & Fleetwood Mac for dancing or getting ready before I get out. And for background ambience I usually go to a mix of Dark Wave / Goth playlists, they always make me happy.
